Winner of the “Samir Kassir Award for Freedom of the Press” in 2013, and graduate of the “Faculty of Journalism” at the University of Damascus, Doha Hassan is a Journalist and Photographer that has worked in the fields of active, multimedia journalism for the past 10 years. She worked at the Lebanese “NOW Lebanon” news website for two years, as Syrian disk editor. covered events inside Syria. She has also worked as a TV Producer and Reporter at “Orient TV” for two years until the channel shut down its Syrian HQ. Her independent work is published in different Arab and International websites, magazines and newspapers.
Doha worked as a Media Coordinator for many cultural events including the “Dox Box Film Festival” in 2011 organized by “Pro Action Films”, and the “Contemporary Dance Festival” in 2010 organized by “Tanween” In 2010, she established a photography exhibition titled “Temporary” about the Refugees of the Syrian Island after six months of working with them as a volunteer within an independent group of journalists and activists. Besides her journalistic work, Doha contributed to various projects in a number of institutions and cultural centers, including the photographic documentation of the “Interactive Theater Project” funded by “Dross Foundation” and the “Goethe Institute” in Damascus. She has also worked at the Documentary department at “Pro Action Films” as a Communication Officer.. Book was published by the Syrian Association for Citizenship publishing house under the title (Table Ground) recently she works with ZDF TV. |
